リーについて

リー・スロゲットは、オーストラリア出身のシンガーソングライターであり、ルーツギタリストです。
彼の音楽は、心に寄り添うストーリーテリングと深みのあるギターワーク、そして伝統と新しさの両方への敬意をあわせ持っています。日々の暮らしや心の内を映し出した歌は、国や文化を越えて共感を呼びます。

日本とのつながりも深く、1993年から約4年半にわたり日本に滞在し、伝統工芸である根付彫刻を学びました。その経験や日本の家族との交流は、彼の作詞や表現に大きな影響を与え続けています。

2025年に再び日本へ拠点を移し、全国の皆さまに音楽を届けられることを楽しみにしています。

活動

• 20年以上にわたり、オーストラリア国内のフェスティバル、クラブ、各種会場で演奏。
• 2019年から2025年7月の来日まで「Leigh Sloggett Trio」を率いて活動。
• これまでにアルバム４枚とシングル２枚をリリースし、ミュージックビデオやライブ映像も発表。

About

Leigh Sloggett is a singer songwriter and roots guitarist whose music blends heartfelt storytelling, evocative musicianship, and a deep respect for both tradition and innovation. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, he has recently relocated to Japan, where he looks forward to sharing his music with audiences across the country.

Over the course of his career, Leigh has released four acclaimed albums: Sliding to Your Destiny (2006), Looking for the Clues (2008), More Than I Need (2012), and Wait for the Change (2022), which reached No.1 on the Roots Report Top 50 Australian Album Chart in the U.S., and No.10 on the Australian Blues & Roots Airplay Chart. His single releases, “Fragile” (2022) and “Cassandra” (2025), continued to expand his sound and have further broadened his audience.

Leigh’s music has been featured on several compilation albums and praised by respected artists and critics. He has appeared at major Australian festivals including the Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival, Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival, Mordialloc Food, Wine and Music Festival, St Kilda Blues Festival and Marysville Jazz & Blues Weekend.

He has been a three-time finalist in the MBAS Blues Challenge, and has collaborated with leading artists such as Nick Charles, who produced Leigh’s album More Than I Need, and renowned Japanese guitarist Chuei Yoshikawa, with whom he has performed both online and in concert.

Described by  Mark S. Tucker from The Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange as “…a letter perfect blend of folk and blues, one of the best I’ve ever heard”, Leigh Sloggett’s performances offer a unique and moving musical journey.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Leigh studied the traditional Japanese art of netsuke carving during his four and a half years living in Japan beginning in 1993—a period that continues to influence his songwriting and creative vision. His connection to Japan is both personal and artistic, shaped by decades of cultural immersion and his Japanese family life.
