In early 2020 plans were being made for myself, Chuei Yoshikawa 吉川忠英 and Nick Charles to do a series of performances together while Chuei-san was visiting Melbourne. Gradually it became obvious that plans to travel were not going to be possible as the pandemic gripped the world.
Fortunately one concert we had planned was with Melbourne’s iconic world music institution ‘The Boite’. It wasn’t long after gigs across the world were being cancelled that the Boite contacted us announcing their plans to move all their upcoming concerts online with the collective title of ‘Adapt Not Cancel’.
So on the 7th of May at 8pm Australian Eastern Standard Time, ‘The Boite Presents Chuei Yoshikawa, Nick Charles and Leigh Sloggett’ will go live online along with an interview of the three of us conducted by the The Boite’s Therese Virtue.
